Answered prayer!

Really cool story:

We have been e-mailing quite often with the birth mom and in one of my first e-mails to her I asked how her headaches and migraines have been and let her know we have people praying for her. She wrote back a couple hours later and thanked us for the prayers and told me she has not had near as many headaches and that the ones she has gotten were not near as severe as "normal". So awesome how great the Lord is. He hears our prayers!

Adoption thoughts...

1 Samuel 1:27
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.

Some thoughts as we reflect on our adoption journey…

Our journey has been a long one, at times very wearisome, at times painful, at times full of hope and faith, but all throughout FULL of God’s grace. We walked through years of medical treatment, specialists, natural remedies and much more, always wondering what God had in store. We finally decided on adoption, although somewhat anxious as to what this new journey would hold. The adoption journey started out slowly with us once again waiting longer than we thought, longer than we had hoped. Then finally we were chosen and so excited just to have it snatched away just as quickly as it came, and even in that God’s grace abounded.

Then the day came where we were again chosen as one of two couples, then we were THE couple, then we started a relationship with the birthparents…and then a baby girl was born on my birthday, two weeks early and she was named Kaylee Grace (the birth mom’s middle name is Kay and wanted Kaylee to have a little part of her name). We got a court date quicker than anyone expected just to find out there was another possible hold up, then it was cleared and the court date proceeded as planned granting us an extraordinary BLESSING! A daughter of our own!

We have thought often of ourselves in this long and bumpy journey, but there is a HUGE missing piece in all of it and it is the self less act of two amazing people-the birth parents. We honor them and have great appreciation for their selfless decision. They gave life to Kaylee-a HUGE gift and they gave life to us-an AMAZING gift.

And through it all we have this sweet and precious relationship with them-another glimpse of God’s unfailing grace. They came to visit us and Kaylee two days before the court date and as any one can imagine we were so nervous for this time. It was such a nice time; they continue to be so easy to be with, a very natural relationship. We laugh often together, talk a lot about the things we are involved in. They do so many thoughtful things-while they were in the hospital having Kaylee they called us every time there was a decision to be made so that we could make it, they also made us a copy of nearly 300 pictures they all took the first few days of Kaylee’s life in the hospital. We are blessed. Please be praying for them as this decision was not an easy one. Pray that the birth mom’s daily headaches and migraines would go away.

God’s provision has been incredible. We have been overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity- we have been given much! One amazing finger print of God was the very day we received the second half of our bill for the adoption Scott closed on a house their business had sold and was able to put a good sized paycheck in our bank account as we sent our adoption payment check out!!

Funny how after such a seemingly “rough” journey we can look at the end result and see how PERFECT it all was.

We love adoption, the process, the experience; the concept-it is just as miraculous and just as full of God as a natural pregnancy and delivery. It may be a road less taken, but it is a joyous one.
