Our Waiting and Longing...

Wanted to ask for more and more prayer. It has been a VERY hard month, very emotional and a daily fight to continue to hope, trust and rejoice.

We are so weary of waiting and wondering what God has planned for us!! We know we can trust Him and know He is good, it just is hard to see through our fleshly thoughts and emotions at times!!

One of our greatest desires right now is to live out this verse:

Be joyful in HOPE, patient in AFFLICTION, faithful in PRAYER - Romans 12:12

Our Profile

Our profile has only been shown twice since we were approved. The first time the birth mom chose a family who had been waiting longer and this last time that I had mentioned in our last blog wanted her child to have siblings, so the birth mom chose a family who already had a child. So we continue to wait on the Lord. We know who is in charge and He is worth the wait...every time!!

We of course are sad and often wish it would happen faster but we know, "To EVERYTHING there is a season, a time for EVERY PURPOSE

under heaven" (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

and so we wait for that season and that purpose.

OUR PROFILE WAS SHOWN!

FINALLY...a little new news to share. This past Thursday our profile was shown to a birth mom. We are unsure how many other profiles were shown along with ours and we have yet to hear what has come of it. She may have taken the profiles home to look over during the weekend, or she may have already made her decision. We will let you know if we hear anything!

We are super encouraged just to have some activity!

It's been awhile

I know I have not been on here in forever to give any sort of update, I am sorry for that.

We just heard from our social worker and she let us know that no one’s profile was shown in the month of December; I am sure due to the holidays. So our profile has not been shown yet, but they think it will pick up soon. They had no birth moms all last month, but they already had two come in the first week of January.

Please continue to pray for us as we wait. To be totally honest it has been really hard to wait. We KNOW we can trust the Lord in all things, especially this, but it has been something we have had to choose each day, grasping for God’s new mercies every morning!!

We will keep you all updated!

A Small Update...

Just wanted to let everyone know that our check has officially been cashed and cleared our bank. Not only that, but our social worker has had the OK on showing our profile as of November 9th (we just found that out yesterday) sooooooooo that truly means be praying cause we could get a call any day. Now when we get "the call" it will mean that a birth mom has selected us after looking at our profile and wants to meet with us, she may have other families selected as well. Once we meet with her and she makes her final decision and then we get "the bigger call" to say we have been chosen and then whatever her due date is becomes our due date, so to speak.

We are praying and trusting that God himself is knitting together a child in his/her mother's womb for us to raise and we want His good, perfect and pleasing will. That it would not be just about getting chosen quickly, but that it would be God's will done alone! Please pray for this along with us. We are willing to wait on God, He is worth it every time!!

APPROVED!!

We are SO EXCITED, we got our approval letter and pre-adoptive foster care license from Bethany and of course our bill (not so fun, but necessary). We will be sending the check in the mail and as soon as they receive it they will now officially begin to show our profile to birth moms, meaning we could get "the call" any day!?!?!?

Thanks as always for all the support as we waited!!

We are going to our first adoption educational classes this weekend, we have to get 18 hours in each. I know it is going to be really helpful and insightful, this one is all about the birth parents/adoptive parent relationship and how this all affects the adopted child. There will be birth and adoptive parents there and adopted children to share their experiences. We are looking forward to this big time!
