Adoption thoughts...

What a huge span of emotions this journey has been full of and continues to be. Fear, joy, excitement, anxiousness, expectation, fulfillment, insecurity, the list goes on and on… We are so thankful to have One that we can entrust all those emotions to, to the Lord God, make of heaven and earth, the One who formed each one of us in our mother’s wombs and will yet knit together the baby we are designed by God’s grace to have as well. What a mighty God to do all that and yet care and attend to all our crazy mix of emotions.

We made our first phone call to get this whole adoption process started on June 7th, almost 5 months ago, it feels like forever that we have waited. Then I think back to how long it has actually been that we have so wanted a baby, more than 5 long years. The Lord has been supplying his sufficient grace as we wait. I began to study waiting on the Lord and was blessed with so many awesome verses. I know this is a lot, but if any of you are in a season of waiting I pray this will be a blessing…
In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer, O Lord my God.
I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning,
Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him. The LORD is good to those who wait for Him.
But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.
But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

We pray this has blessed, strengthened and encouraged you like it did for us. God is so faithful and is always at work. After reading all these verses we feel more confident then ever of God’s perfect timing, his good, perfect and pleasing will for our life (Romans 12:2) and that we can wait on Him with absolute trust of what he has in store for us.

2 Corinthians 4:17 (NIV and NKJV)
For our light and momentary afflictions are working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

We again are just so grateful for all the support we have received. We are very blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives.

Back in Wisconsin...

Back in Wisconsin…

Well since we are still in wait mode we thought we would go ahead and let those who do not already know what we are up to here in the north. We moved back and are so enjoying being near our families and re-connecting with life long friends. Scott has started a business with his dad, his brother and another good friend called Homebuyers of WI. They have purchased two homes, one that they were able to put right back on the market and one that they pretty much gutted, renovated and is now on the market. They will be completing the sale of their third property next week. As for me I came back and was watching Mikhaya and Donovan, they are now both in daycare and school, so my days are full of a little mix of helping Scott fix up houses, hanging out with other mom friends and their kids, and getting ready to have a baby in our home.

Another fun thing Scott has been up to is doing quite a few weddings, he has officiated two in Charlotte since we moved home, one here in Wisconsin, has one more set for December in Charlotte and one more here in March. So that has been lots of fun and quite an honor.
We have also had a ton of fun visitors since we moved back home; thank you Vic and Loreen for coming right away and helping us move into our quaint little apartment, Daryl thanks for coming and hanging with us on Memorial Day, the whole Hardee family thanks for coming and getting the full Wisconsin tour, and thanks Heidi and Erica for energizing our weekend up!!
That is just a bit of what is keeping us busy here in the land of the cold and cheese!

Our precious nieces

One of the things we love about living near family again is getting to know our nieces: Korah, Enja, Lissette and Noelani. We are finally an Aunt and Uncle that they know and want to be around, not two people who they barely know and live really far away. We have so much fun and love hanging out with them. Here are some pictures of them...

An Adoption Journey

Hello and welcome to this thing called a BLOG, not exactly my type of thing, but we thought it would be a good way to communicate with the people we hold dear all over the world.
The latest status of our adoption is that we are in wait mode. We have completed all the necessary paperwork and have finished our home study. We are waiting on one report to come back from our old doctor in Charlotte. It should be in the mail as I type this. Once that is in to our agency's office it will only be a matter of time before we get our approval letter.
Once we get our approval letter and bill and once the bill is paid, they will begin to show our profile to birth moms and then as God allows we will be chosen.
Thank you for all your support and prayers, we appreciate them ALL!!!
